The Kukje Gallery in Seoul, interesting for the international relations of art, offers the exhibition of the Korean Sungsic Moon.
The show’s title points out the value of the ideological landscape in the history of oriental art. The meeting with the artists Seong-Heui Kim, In Soo Choi, Man Rin Choi, Kwang I Jeong, Jeong Yong Kook,  in the exhibition  Springs of  White, MoA of Seoul(1), called for some reflections on the landscape in Oriental history. Western thought has left a trail landscape of the contemporary preference for new paths of expression.

The landscape is the basic structure on which the history of Eastern thought and art has made the visual language, and genre painting, in which to express the ancient philosophy, the relationship with the essence, with the void, with the ‘invisible, with the concept of white.

The concept of space, represented by In Soo Choi or by Angelo Savelli, approaches the poetic landscape of Sungsic Moon. The artist works and builds the visual discourse around a precise idea, represented ‘dynamically’. The representations of Sungsic Moon are beyond the concept of beginning or end: paper, canvas, the surface is the place of passage, still images of what is constantly evolving.

The artist paints each leaf with devotion and attention to detail, as I have seen Jeong Yong Kook! This is a sign of a great thought, the desire for the sublime, to reach the path of Buddhist thought, of consciousness. The works, as  Interior of Forest,Texture of the Night testify to the relationship with the phenomenology of perception.

Sungsic Moon Young will be present in Monza Biennale Young (Monza from 14 April to 17 July 2011).

La Kukje Gallery di Seoul, interessante per l’internazionalità delle relazioni artistiche, propone la mostra dell’artista coreano Sungsic Moon.

Il titolo della mostra rammenta il valore ideologico del paesaggio nella storia dell’arte orientale. L’incontro con gli artisti Seong- Heui Kim, In Soo Choi, Man Rin Choi, Kwang Ho Jeong, Yong Kook Jeong, in occasione della mostra Primavere del bianco presso il MoA di Seoul[1], ha sollecitato alcune riflessioni sull’arte del paesaggio nella storia orientale. Il pensiero occidentale ha abbandonato un percorso paesaggistico prediligendo nuovi sentieri espressivi della contemporaneità.

Il paesaggio è la base, la struttura su cui la storia del pensiero e dell’arte orientale ha costruito il linguaggio visivo e il genere pittorico, in cui esprimere l’antica filosofia, il rapporto con l’essenza, con il vuoto, con l’invisibile, con il concetto di bianco.

Il concetto di spazio, rappresentato da In Soo Choi o da Angelo Savelli, avvicina alla poetica paesaggistica di Sungsic Moon.  L’artista lavora, costruisce il discorso visivo attorno ad una idea precisa, colta in un passaggio ‘dinamico’. Le rappresentazioni di Sungsic Moon sono oltre ogni concetto di inizio o fine: la carta, la tela, la superficie è il luogo di passaggio, di fermo-immagine di ciò che è in continuo divenire.   L’artista dipinge ogni foglia con devozione e attenzione al dettaglio, come ho visto in Yong Kook Jeong! Ciò è segno di un grande pensiero!

E’ desiderio di sublime, di raggiungere il pensiero Buddista del percorso, della consapevolezza. Opere come Interior of Forest, Texture of the Night testimoniano il rapporto con la fenomenologia della percezione.

Sungsic Moon sarà presente nella Biennale Giovani Monza, che si terrà a Monza dal 14 aprile al 17 luglio.
