Charity auction for FotografiSenzaFrontiere-onlus

Sixty-eight works of photography will be in auction at Sotheby’s. Works by some of the most famous Italian and foreign photographers and by many young authors to sustain FotografiSenzaFrontiere-onlus, independent organization since 1997 committed in setting up permanent laboratories of photography in fringe areas or war-torn zones of the world. Experiencing photography, children and teenagers have the chance to learn the basics of a new profession and gain access to an effective and competitive means of self-representation of their own reality and to reduce that sense of impotence which is often generated from insecurity. The whole proceeds of the auction will be entirely invested in founding new labs and supporting those already existing.

The works in auction include photographs by Gian Paolo Barbieri, Gabriele Basilico, James Whitlow Delano, Franco Fontana, Maurizio Galimberti, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Luigi Ghirri, Douglas Kirkland, Steve McCurry, Nino Migliori, Ugo Mulas, Gérard Rancinan, Herb Ritts, Massimo Vitali, Francesco Zizola and many other important authors of the Italian and international scenario. The whole proceeds of the sale will be invested by FotografiSenzaFrontiere-onlus in founding new permanent labs of photography (in the Kuna Yala comarca and in Afghanistan) and in organizing educational activities in the laboratories in Nicaragua, Palestine, Algeria and Uganda.

Asta  in favore di FotografiSenzaFrontiere-onlus

Saranno messe in asta presso Sotheby’s una sessantina di opere dei più celebri fotografi italiani e stranieri e di molti giovani autori a sostegno della onlus FotografiSenzaFrontiere, organizzazione indipendente nata nel 1997 e impegnata nella creazione di laboratori permanenti di fotografia in aree marginali o critiche del mondo. Attraverso l’insegnamento della fotografia, bambini e ragazzi trovano la possibilità di apprendere i rudimenti di una nuova professione e di accedere a un efficace e competitivo mezzo di auto-rappresentazione della propria realtà, nonché di alleviare quel senso di impotenza che spesso si genera nella precarietà. Il ricavato dell’asta verrà interamente impiegato nella creazione di nuovi laboratori e nel sostentamento di quelli esistenti.

L’intero ricavato dell’asta sarà investito da FotografiSenzaFrontiere-onlus nella creazione di nuovi laboratori permanenti di fotografia (nella comarca di Kuna Yala e in Afghanistan) e nell’organizzazione di iniziative presso i laboratori già attivi in Nicaragua, Palestina, Algeria e Uganda.
