ARTHOUGHTS
Fashion Art Design Accessories

Arthoughts is the first fashion accessories collection signed in limited edition by young and established contemporary artists and designers.

The first collection for Winter 2012 and Summer 2011 is dedicated to Signature Hats in Limited Edition, by the established designer Antonio Cagianelli and artists Blue and Joy. The choice for this first collection was to intervene with a precious scenography on a classical base.

The idea is therefore to be able to actually wear true works of art made with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.

In fact, this is how Antonio Cagianellʼs “Skull” hat was conceived, communicating through hybrid languages which unite pop rock to hip hop, as well as graffitti to surrealism and dadaism. On the other hand, Blue and Joyʼs idea leads the aesthetic concept to the world of the new post‐pop comic strips, through a captivating language of messages and characters which allow us to dream in a universal world. The skull with its ironic connotation of love‐death and the expressions of the characters with Joyʼs smile and Blueʼs poetic tear grant an art‐chic touch, as well as a sprinkle of protagonism, to the user of the hat.

The collection Arthoughts proposes an elegance which is refined, timeless, and collectible. In a world which is increasingly futuristic and imaginary, where the language of form increasingly becomes aesthetic creation, the new brand Arthoughts intends to be the first reference for Look‐Art, where the main actor is the “artwork‐accessory”: ready to be worn and displayed not only as witness to originality but also for the pleasure of living with art in oneʼs own life.
The new collection is the fruit of an idea by three creatives: the art gallery owner Paola Colombari, the accessories stylist Katya Fernandez and the entrepeneur Marco Gualtieri.

Biographies Paola Colombari – Katya Fernandez

Paola Colombari and her sister Rossella founded their first gallery dedicated to twentieth century furniture and design in Turin in 1981. This gallery played a fundamental role in the promotion of the work of Carlo Mollino. In 1991, the gallery was transferred to Milan, where Paola began to work in the field of avant‐garde design, experimenting with research languages related to post‐modernism and collaborating with Italian and international designers. As of 2006, she has also concentrated on Euro‐Asian contemporary art with particular attention to artists from the Middle East and Arab Gulf. As of 1991, she has also dedicated herself to the management of cultural projects and has collaborated with several important international galleries and museums, such as: Musée Des Arts Decoratifs in Montrèal‐Canada, KunsterKolonie Museum in Darmstadt‐ Germany, and Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Paris and Amsterdam.

A research based on a love for the Arts placed Katya Fernandezʼs signature on collections, all of them embriodered and interpreted, not only for clothing but also for many other fashion sectors: purses, shawls, and hats. She founded a company specialized in precious embroidery and realizes exclusive and unique samples, designed and embroidered for the “pret‐a‐porter” and high fashion. She offers a consulting service for every aspect of embroidery, fabrics and materials’ designs, thus embellishing clothing items as well as bags, shoes, hats…
Katya Fernandezʼs embroidery has been the protagonist of collections by designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Alberta Ferretti, and others. She has also collaborated with important museum institutions such as the Museo Archeologico of Milan, the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e Tecnica, and Alla Scala Theater of Milan. In 2000, she began a Collection of Bags which carries her own signature brand.

ARTHOUGHTS
Fashion Art Design Accessories
