Filippos Tsitsopoulos (ES)
FELDEINSAMKEIT TONIGHT is a system of theatrical performances and video theatre works where one actor is combined with video projection actors creating a video and performance theatre installation. All the characters that appears in the videos as well as the performance characters are staged,filmed, designed and performed by Filippos Tsitsopoulos.
“Present in Tsitsopoulos work is a mix of possibilities. Joy, pleasure, political identity, conformism and rebellion, masked and overexposed, combined with spirituality and sensuality. Theatrical process is employed, and the artist (Tsitsopoulos) becomes similar to the painter. New possibilities emerge, as theatre and film become the canvas for his work.
Tsitsopoulos was born 1967 in Athens, and studied Fine Arts at Aristotelion University. Now a resident of Madrid his doctoral studies have explored the theme of ‘Irony In Art’. Currently in the employ of The Prado Museum Madrid, Tsitsopoulos area is Education In Art History and workshops.
As a performer, video and photography serve as tools to bring his monologues to life. Tsitsopoulos is also an accomplished painter, photographer, interventionist artist and actor.
The subject of his creative exploration is failed philosophical theories. Failure ideals: in music, and composers’… failure ideals also in the theatre. Plays with a tragic elemental edge and meaning, and a forgotten end, serve as inspiration to much of Tsitsopoulos work. These themes are evident in his works Goya and Rodin, Berlin 2005 and 2007, at the Alten National Galerie and Neuen National Galerie. Tsitsopoulos exhibited at the Liverpool Biennial, A Foundation 2004, and other shows.

BONE ist durch seinen langjährigen künstlerischen Leiter Norbert Klassen mit der ersten Generation der Performance Art (nach Fluxus, Body Art …) weltweit und eng vernetzt. Dieser wertvolle Strang wird mit der neuen künstlerischen Leitung nicht abgekappt – im Gegenteil: Vielmehr wird Bewährtes aufrecht erhalten. So ist schon Tradition, dass die Performance Art Assoziation “Black Market International” alle fünf Jahre BONE beehrt.
Neu wird jährlich an Altmeister und Grandes Dames der Performance Art eine „Carte Blanche” für einen Programmvorschlag zu einem „emerging artist” vergeben. Für BONE 14 geht die „Carte Blanche” an Norbert Klassen. Er wünscht sich den in Madrid lebenden griechischen Künstler Filippos Tsitsopoulos, von dem bereits kurze Videos anlässlich von BONE 13 zu entdecken waren.
