ROOTS–EN MEDIO DE LA TIERRA- IN THE EARTH MIDDLE
From January 25 until March 25, 2012

Kir Royal Gallery continuing with its temporary programming on the portrait presents next Wednesday, the 25th of January the collective exhibition ROOTS (in the Earth middle).

A collective exhibition formed by 4 international artists of recognized prestige who will accompany us on its presence the day of the opening.

Mostapha Romli-Marruecos, Peyrotau and Sediles-España, Filippos Tsitsopoulos-Grecia, Bernardo Tejeda – Spain

This exhibition tries to flee of the common places to offer a vision different from the immediate reality through that we live. The portrait as part of the proper culture reflects an identity that is in continuous movement due to the cultural crossbreeding, significant fact that extends it and provides of largeness.

ROOTS is an investigation on the identity from four differentiated perspectives, an investigation on the photographic portrait and its link with the Mediterranean one like union connection.

A sea that joins three regions and four artists. An idea that links by means of four different speeches in the same support: the photo.

Mostapha Romli (Morocco). The artist exhibits its installation ¨Momentos of Eternity¨ (presented previously in the festival Artendencias in the square of the Museum Queen Sophia during the Night in Target). The installation is composed by 200 portraits shut up in crystal receptacles and obtained between the year 1989 and 2010. Faces for which the time stopped eternally, frozen faces shut up in bottles to improve its conservation and delivered in bulk in a timeless break in expectation of living again after the look of a spectator.

Peyrotau and Sediles (group composed by Aránzazu Peyrotau-Barcelona and Antonio Sediles – Saragossa) they present 3 images of its series to us masked, a collection of portraits treated like scenes tenebristas of sharp golden twinkles. Photos of pronounced character pictorialista discover the multiple identities that the same personage possesses. In the last years its work has been exhibited in cities like New York, Berlin, Washington, Madrid, Cologne or Frankfurt.

Filippos Tsitsopoulos (Greece Resides in Madrid). At present it is employed like teacher of drawing at the rooms of classic sculpture of the National museum of the Meadow, a fundamental place in the shape of its visual universe. Its wide explanatory trajectory had two important appointments: the Circle of Fine arts of Madrid (2004 and 2007) and the Biennial of Liverpool of 2004. There has had individual exhibitions in Berlin (2004, 2005, 2007, 2010), in the Gallery Carmen La Calle Madrid Jerez or Dolores de Sierra in Madrid. It presents to us a series of 3 self-portraits constructed from liquid images, as stills that its imagination transforms this way to promote this presence of madness and reality. Influenced by the imaginary one of Giuseppe Arcimboldo (1527-1593), he uses the art as a ferment of the reality to avoid to reach the madness.In Kir Royal we will see a merger of portrait and nature dramatized in a luck of Baroque vanitas, but with a current language, where the perishable thing passes in the end and the end to the essential thing. Its works are living snapshots which composition prospers thanks to the painting and the sculpture, the theater, the opera or the music.

Bernardo Tejeda. With extraordinary works of a delicacy and spirituality, referring to the baroque painting. Fragments of corporeal fragments, insinuating anatomies of glassy reflexes, man’s riddles, where I he exercises other, the interiority as good illustrates Chiozza ¨La word “interiority“ makes to think about the singular thing of that one something that does of every living being what he is, this something that comes from not spatial depth … ¨ Bernardo Tejeda recreates under spiritual baths in red and yellow elements of another being singular and similar to him, a hybridization on the portrait, the polymorphism, the transmutation and the synthesis. Castro de Viladonga could have contemplated its work in the Museum of Lugo, Museum do, in Gallicia, The CAM (Valencia), The Center for Art and Average, Karlruhe, Germany, MEIAC, Badajoz, I circulate of Fine arts, Madrid or The Museet for Samtidskunst, Roskilde, Denmark between others. The works presented in ROOTS belong to the series epígonos where the different, unlike, incongruous thing or seemingly incompatible, it unites of believable form under a new reality. Looks to that they listen and where everything is what is seen and nothing what seems.

ROOTS (en medio de la tierra) en Kir Royal Gallery

Kir Royal Gallery  continuando con su programación temporal sobre el retrato presenta el próximo miércoles 25 de enero  la exposición colectiva ROOTS (en medio de la tierra).
Una exposición colectiva formada por 4 artistas internacionales de reconocido prestigio que nos acompañarán con su presencia el día de la inauguración.

Esta exposición trata de huir de los lugares comunes para ofrecer una visión diferente de la realidad inmediata que vivimos. El retrato como parte de la propia cultura refleja una identidad que se encuentra en continuo movimiento debido al mestizaje cultural, hecho significativo que la extiende y dota de amplitud.

ROOTS es una indagación sobre la identidad desde cuatro perspectivas diferenciadas, una investigación sobre el retrato fotográfico y su vinculación con el mediterráneo como nexo de unión.

Un mar que une tres regiones y cuatro artistas. Una idea que se vincula por medio de cuatro discursos diferentes en un mismo soporte: la fotografía.

Mostapha Romli (Marruecos). El artista exhibe su instalación ¨Momentos de Eternidad¨ (presentada anteriormente en el festival Artendencias en la plaza del Museo Reina Sofía durante la Noche en Blanco). La instalación está compuesta por 200 retratos encerrados en recipientes de cristal y  obtenidos entre los años 1989 y 2010. Caras para las que el tiempo se detuvo eternamente, rostros congelados, encerrados en frascos para mejorar su conservación y entregados a granel en una pausa intemporal a la espera de volver a vivir tras la mirada de un espectador.

Peyrotau & Sediles (colectivo compuesto por Aránzazu Peyrotau-Barcelona y Antonio Sediles-  Zaragoza) nos presentan 3 imágenes de su serie enmascarados, una colección de retratos tratados como escenas tenebristas de afilados destellos dorados. Fotografías de un marcado carácter pictorialista descubren las múltiples identidades que posee un mismo personaje. En los últimos años su obra ha sido exhibida en ciudades como Nueva York, Berlín, Washington, Madrid, Colonia o Frankfurt.

Filippos Tsitsopoulos (Grecia–reside en Madrid). En la actualidad trabaja como profesor de dibujo en las salas de escultura clásica del Museo Nacional del Prado, un lugar fundamental en la conformación de su universo visual. Su amplia trayectoria expositiva tuvo dos citas importantes: el Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid (2004 y 2007) y la Bienal de Liverpool de 2004. Ha tenido exposiciones  individuales en Berlín (2004 y 2005), en la Galería Carmen La Calle de Jerez o Dolores de Sierra en Madrid. Nos presenta una serie de 3 autorretratos construidos  a partir de imágenes líquidas, a modo de fotogramas que su imaginación transforma para así potenciar esa presencia de locura y realidad. Influenciado por el imaginario de Giuseppe Arcimboldo (1527-1593), emplea el arte como un fermento de la realidad para evitar alcanzar la locura. En Kir Royal veremos una fusión de retrato y naturaleza dramatizado en una suerte de vanitas Barrocas, pero con un lenguaje actual, donde lo perecedero da paso al final y el final a lo esencial. Sus trabajos son instantáneas vivas cuya composición se enriquece gracias a la pintura y la escultura, el teatro, la ópera o la música.

Bernardo Tejeda. Con obras de una delicadeza y espiritualidad extraordinarias, haciendo referencia a la pintura barroca. Fragmentos de fragmentos corpóreos, insinuantes anatomías de reflejos vítreos, adivinanzas de hombre, donde el otro ejerce el yo, la interioridad como bien ilustra Chiozza ¨La palabra “interioridad” hace pensar en lo singular de ese algo que hace de todo ser vivo lo que él es, ese algo que procede de una profundidad no espacial…¨ Bernardo Tejeda recrea bajo baños espirituales en rojo y amarillos elementos de otro ser singular y similar a él, una hibridación sobre el retrato, el polimorfismo, la transmutación y la síntesis. Su obra ha podido contemplarse en el Museo de Lugo, Museo do Castro de Viladonga, en Galicia, La CAM (Valencia), The Center for Art & Media, Karlruhe, Alemania, MEIAC, Badajoz, Circulo de Bellas Artes, Madrid o The Museet for Samtidskunst, Roskilde, Dinamarca entre otros. Las obras presentadas en ROOTS pertenecen a la serie epígonos en donde lo diferente, dispar, incongruente o aparentemente incompatible, se aúna de forma creíble bajo una nueva realidad. Miradas que escuchan y donde todo es lo que se ve y nada lo que parece.

La pérdida de la identidad en un mundo mediático se recupera en la unión del ser con su raíz “todo retrato es la reafirmación del yo”.
