Opening of NEON, exhibition that brings to MACRO works from more than fifty international artists (such as Dan Flavin, Joseph Kosuth, Tracey Emin, Alfredo Jaar, Maurizio Nannucci and Maurizio Cattelan), who have made of this simple source of artificial light the “luminous material of contemporary art.” The show opens with a performance from Japanese artist Tsuneko Taniuchi, and includes about seventy works, presented through a path that develops primarily in the large Sala Enel (Enel room) but that also engage, in a suggestive way, with other Odile Decq’s articulated spaces. The exhibition is curated by David Rosenberg and Bartolomeo Pietromarchi. The exhibition catalogue, first of the MACRO – Quodlibet editorial series, is available at the opening event.

Si inaugura NEON mostra tematica che porta al MACRO le opere di più di cinquanta artisti internazionali (da Dan Flavin a Joseph Kosuth, da Tracey Emin ad Alfredo Jaar, da Maurizio Nannucci a Maurizio Cattelan) che hanno fatto di questa semplice fonte di luce artificiale “la materia luminosa dell’arte” contemporanea. La mostra si inaugura con una performance dell’artista giapponese Tsuneko Taniuchi, e le circa settanta opere sono presentate attraverso un percorso che si svolge prevalentemente nella grande Sala Enel ma che si snoda fino a coinvolgere, in modo suggestivo, altri spazi dell’articolato intervento architettonico di Odile Decq. La mostra è curata da David Rosenberg e Bartolomeo Pietromarchi e il catalogo, primo della serie editoriale MACRO – Quodlibet, è disponibile nella serata della inaugurazione.
