FOTOFEVER ART FAIR 2013
October 3rd to 6th, 2013
The new European photography art fair fotofever brussels closed its gates last Sunday (4-7 October 2012). After its inaugural edition at Paris last year, the premiere at Brussels had MORE THAN10.000 VISITORS. The fair hosted 68 GALLERIES and cooperated with 64 CULTURAL PARTNERS. The galleries presented fresh works of around 280 ARTISTS from 38 COUNTRIES on 4000 square meters at the magnificent turn of the century crystal complex Tour & Taxis in the inspiring European capital.
BRISK SALES as well as prestigious hanging were noticed by Fifty One Fine Art Photography (Belgium), NKA Photography (Belgium), Pure Fine Arts (Belgium), Le Réverbère (France), Paris-Beijing (France, Belgium), Raum mit Licht (Austria), Michaela Stock (Austria), Podbielsky (Germany), Asymetria (Poland), Faur Zsófia (Hungary), Fotografija (Slovenia), PX Photography (United States) and Galerie 127 (Morocco). SOLD WORKS amounted between 350 EUR (Isabelle L, Little Big Galerie) and 70.000 EUR (Irving Penn, Pure Fine Arts).
Main sponsor ABN AMRO Private Banking invited 300 clients to the fair. Among the visitors ranked important COLLECTORS from Belgium and France such as Baudouin Michiels, Stéphane Janssen, countess Sandrine de Montmort, baron Philippe Bracht, Alain Servais or Wilhelm Schürmann. fotofever brussels was very happy to welcome PROFESSIONALS as well, among them Wim van Sinderen (senior curator at The Hague Museum of Photography), Christophe de Jaeger from Bozar museum in Brussels and Xavier Canonne (director of Musée de la Photographie à Charleroi).
Founder and director Cécile Schall thanked all 154 exhibitors, partners and participants as well as the 10.000 visitors for sharing her passion for photography _ the fotofever.
The next edition of fotofever brussels will take place on October 3rd to 6th, 2013. It will show a focused selection of galleries in order to increase the quality of the selected works.
