Andrew Rutt

Andrew Rutt, attended Central St Martins and graduated in Fine Art and Critical theory from Goldsmiths College in 1998. Since 2000 he has been living and working in Rome, and exhibiting both here and in London. Recent shows include Underwood audio II (2002, group show, Underwood/Saatchi Gallery, Londra), Everything must go (2006, group show, VTO Gallery, Londra), A book in the Back of your head (2007, Galleria Navona 42, Piazza Navona, Roma), Where the sky went (2008, Sala 1, Roma), Transizioni (2009 STUDIO.RA, Roma). Rutt works in a territory where aesthetical expression is founded on manifold visual languages that involves an interesting new expressive synthesis that nimbly reflects the complexity of the contemporary world. In particular, his artistic investigation explores the relationship between ’us’ and ’things’.
Andrew Rutt, classe 1965, e’ nato a Londra laureandosi in Fine Art presso il prestigioso Goldsmiths College. Dal 2000 lavora dividendosi tra Roma e Londra. Tra le sue mostre piu’ recenti ricordiamo Underwood audio II (2002, group show, Underwood/Saatchi Gallery, Londra), Everything must go (2006, group show, VTO Gallery, Londra) e A book in the Back of your head (2007, Galleria Navona 42, Piazza Navona, Roma), Dove è andato il cielo (2008, Sala 1, Roma), Transizioni (2009 STUDIO.RA, Roma). Rutt lavora all’interno di un territorio nel quale l’espressione estetica è basata su molteplici linguaggi visivi. La contaminazione che ne deriva è quindi espressa attraverso l’uso di varie tecniche: fotografica, video, installativa. Ciò ha comportato una interessante nuova sintesi espressiva che più agilmente riflette la complessità del mondo contemporaneo. In particolare, Andrew Rutt concentra la sua indagine artistica sui Rapporti tra l’uomo e le “cose”.
