Sagunto with the antient theatre festival in Valencia, in Spain, gets this summer again a new edition of “Peregrinatio: Art in the chapels”, whose diverse artistic installations will be able to be seen,  from today 22 of june till the next 9 of September of 2012.

This year, the artistic trip will be start from the chapels of Santa Maria by Magdalen and San Blas, “La Sangre” (The Blood), Los Dolores(The Pains), San Roque Chapel and Mare de Deu dels Desamparats, Chapel of Buen Suceso, The Calvary and St Christobal, as well as for the Archaeological museum of Sagunto.

In this occasion, the artists have based their works on the subject-matter of the “Sacrifice”, understood like “a gift and like an abnegation act towards an ideal: the Art”.
This evening this special exhibition will be inaugurated with a trip, symbol of the peregrination, by all the chapels to visualize the works that Castle will divide at 19:30 from the chapel of Sant Blai in the street.

Eight artists of the first national and international level, offer again for sixth time “its particular atonement”, as he explains himself in the leaflet of the exhibition, surprising the public in its strolling for the streets of the city with contemporary creations. They are: Almudena Lobera, which presents “Revealing Space” in Santa Maria Magdelena and San Blas; Angeles Marco (deceased artist to whom homage yields in this edition), whose work “Structure – imbalance, series The Transit” is exhibited in the Archaeological museum of Sagunto; Natalia Granada, with “  Once was an exterminating angel”, that will be able turns in the Chapel of the Blood; Mateo Maté and its particular “Via Crucis”, installed in the Chapel of Los Dolores; Filippos Tsitsopoulos, innovating with “Art itself can create Art” in the chapel of San Roque and Mare de Deu dels Desamparats; Manuel Vilariño, who has placed its “Divided cross of light” in the chapel of the Good Event; Rocio Villalonga that “Viaticum“ presents in The Calvary; and Avelino Sala who exhibits “Soccoro“ in the Chapel of Sant Cristòfol.

This morning has presented in the chapel of Sant Cristòfol the present Peregrinatio edition to the mayor of Sagunto, Alfredo Castelló, the autonomic secretary of Culture i Esport, Rafael Ripoll, the coordinator of the event, Tomás Ruiz, and the curator, Fernando Castro Flores. They all have coincided on having indicated the importance of this big artistic event should have turned to organized after a year of parentheses during which there have been rehabilitated the chapels that receive the facilities, as well as the scope that it has for the city that during the summer receives the main cultural programmings of the Valencian Community.

Sagunto vuelve a acoger este verano una nueva edición de “Peregrinatio: Arte en las ermitas”, cuyas diversas instalaciones artísticas podrán verse desde hoy y hasta el próximo 9 de septiembre. Este año, el recorrido artístico podrá hacerse por las ermitas de Santa María Magdalena y San Blas, La Sangre, Los Dolores, San Roque y la Mare de Deu dels Desamparats, la del Buen Suceso, El Calvario y San Cristóbal, así como por el Museo Arqueológico de Sagunto. Queda fuera la ermita de San Miguel debido a que todavía no ha concluido su rehabilitación.

En esta ocasión, los creadores han basado sus obras en la temática del “Sacrificio”, entendido como “una ofrenda y como un acto de abnegación hacia un ideal: el Arte”. Esta tarde se inaugurará esta especial exposición con un recorrido, símbolo de la peregrinación, por todas las ermitas para visualizar las obras que partirá a las 19:30 horas desde la ermita de Sant Blai en la calle Castillo.

Esta mañana se ha presentado en la ermita de Sant Cristòfol la presente edición de Peregrinatio por parte del alcalde de Sagunto, Alfredo Castelló, el secretario autonómico de Cultura i Esport, Rafael Ripoll, el coordinador de la muestra, Tomás Ruiz, y el comisario, Fernando Castro. Todos han coincidido al señalar la importancia de que se haya vuelto a organizar este gran evento artístico después de un año de paréntesis durante el que se han rehabilitado las ermitas que acogen las instalaciones, así como el alcance que tiene para la ciudad que durante el verano acoge las principales programaciones culturales de la Comunidad Valenciana.

Ocho artistas de primer nivel nacional e internacional vuelven a ofrecer por sexta vez “su particular expiación”, según se explica en el folleto de la exposición, sorprendiendo al público en su deambular por las calles de la ciudad con creaciones contemporáneas. Ellos son: Almudena Lobera, que presenta “Espacio Revelador” en Santa María Magdelena y San Blas; Ángeles Marco (artista fallecida a la que se rinde homenaje en esta edición), cuya obra “Estructura-desequilibrios, serie El Tránsito” se expone en el Museo Arqueológico de Sagunto; Natalia Granada, con “Érase una vez un ángel exterminador”, que podrá verse en la Ermita de la Sangre; Mateo Maté y su particular “Via Crucis”, instalado en la Ermita de Los Dolores; Filippos Tsitsopoulos, innovando con “Art itself can create Art” en la ermita de San Roque y la Mare de Deu dels Desamparats; Manuel Vilariño, que ha colocado su “Cruz de luz partida” en la ermita del Buen Suceso; Rocio Villalonga que presenta “Viaticum” en El Calvario; y Avelino Sala que expone “Socorro” en la Ermita de Sant Cristòfol.
