The fourteenth encounter of The most beautiful Kunsthalle in the world will see as protagonists the representatives of three prestigious
centres dedicated to contemporary art, hosted in the cities of Bregenz (Austria), Lugano (Switzerland) and Vassivière (France).
These three places are characterised by a low presence of a urban centre, by a flourishing tourism industry and by being located by a lakeside.
Just like Como.
Which are the reasons that allowed for these three small centres to acquire such relevant infrastructures in the field of contemporary art?
What is the public of these institutions? In what way does their peculiar geographical condition contributes to define the character of these centres? In what way does the architecture of the centres (Peter Zumthor at Bregenz, Aldo Rossi at Vassivière and Ivano Gianola at Lugano) contributes for their success?
What way should Como take to be able of giving life to a Centre for the contemporary arts?

The most beautiful Kunsthalle in the world is a project conceived by Fondazione Antonio Ratti together with the Camera di Commercio di Como (in the ambit of the initiative Laboratorio) with the collaboration of the Graduate Program in Visual and Performing Arts (Clasav) of the University IUAV of Venice and of the Centro ASK (Art, Science, Knowledge) of the University Bocconi of Milan, with the aim to elaborate an original programme for a future Centre of Contemporary Arts in Como.

Laboratorio Como is a project of the Camera di Commercio, developed within the last years, which represents a moment of research and analysis of the multiple connections that unify economic growth, innovation, urban development, culture, creativity, evaluating the role that Como and its territory can play in the current general context.

The entire project is under the scientific responsibility of the Director of the Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Marco De Michelis, with the general coordination of Filipa Ramos.

Il quattordicesimo incontro della “Kunstahlle più bella del mondo” avrà come protagonisti i rappresentanti di tre prestigiosissimi centri
dedicati all’arte contemporanea ospitati nella città di Bregenz (Austria), Lugano (Svizzera) e Vassivière (Francia)
Queste tre località sono tutte caratterizzate da un centro urbano di limitate dimensioni, da una fiorente industria turistica e dal trovarsi collocate sulle rive di un lago.
Proprio come Como.

Quali sono le ragioni per cui questi tre piccoli centri hanno potuto dotarsi di infrastrutture tanto autorevoli nel campo dell’arte contemporanea? Qual’è il pubblico particolare a cui queste istituzioni si riferiscono? In quale modo la particolare situazione geografica contribuisce a definire il carattere di questi centri? In quale modo le peculiari architetture dei tre centri (Peter Zumthor a Bregenz, Aldo Rossi a Vassivière, Ivano Gianola a Lugano) contribuiscono al loro successo?

Quale cammino deve essere intrapreso a Como per poter dare vita a un Centro dedicato alle arti contemporanee?

La Kunsthalle più bella del mondo è un progetto concepito dalla Fondazione Antonio Ratti e dalla Camera di Commercio di Como (nell’ambito dell’iniziativa Laboratorio Como), con la collaborazione del Corso di Laurea magistrale in Arti Visive dell’Università IUAV di Venezia e del Centro ASK dell’Università Bocconi di Milano, con l’obiettivo della elaborazione di un programma originale per un futuro Centro delle Arti Contemporanee nel capoluogo lariano.
Laboratorio Como è un progetto della Camera di Commercio, avviato già da qualche anno, che rappresenta un momento di esplorazione ed analisi delle molteplici interconnessioni che uniscono crescita economica, innovazione, sviluppo urbano, cultura, creatività, valutando il ruolo che Como e il suo territorio possono assumere nell’attuale contesto evolutivo generale. La responsabilità scientifica del progetto La Kunsthalle più bella del mondo è di Marco De Michelis, Direttore della Fondazione Antonio Ratti, con il coordinamento di Filipa Ramos.
